Watercolor collage. This minimal abstract series is based on reaching harmony with shape and color. The work is process-oriented, about letting go and balancing the spaces in between. Fields of solid and translucent color were hand painted in watercolor on ivory paper and then cut and torn in geometric shapes and fragments. The pieces are composed within a window like structure, tucked under the edges of an ivory paper frame. The spontaneous is reinterpreted and re-framed to reach a subtle, balanced and serene atmospheric quality.
This is No. 1 (of 4) in a series inspired by the Pennyweight Spring Mixtape series, which you can listen to here.
