I can hover endlessly over a table of antique clock parts. Nothing seems to swing my curiosity away from the delicate clock faces, intricate movements, gears, hands, cogs... There seems to be an entire world waiting for me to hold it six inches from my face just to get a proper look. When I first flipped the clock face over to find a gorgeous enamel, I was hooked. My clockwork is made from materials up to 100 years old, so each piece is unique. When they're gone, they're gone!

Julia Kostreva is currently a student in Baltimore, Maryland, at Maryland Institute College of Art with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. Her grandfather worked on the railroad, a place where pocket watches were the most reliable thing around.
